About Louis A. Wasserman, MD
A board-certified, non-invasive cardiologist for 37 years, Dr. Louis A. Wasserman, MD relocated to Naples after a long and successful career in Syracuse, New York. He attended New York University as an undergraduate and graduated from Georgetown University Medical School. Dr. Wasserman went on to his Internal Medicine training at the Brown University Medical School Internal Medicine program and completed it at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then accepted a cardiology fellowship at The Likoff Cardiovascular Institute-Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Wasserman was a cardiologist in the same private practice, non-invasive cardiology group in Syracuse for more than 35 years. Upon arrival to Naples, he briefly joined the NCH Physicians Group/Naples Heart Institute before his return to private practice as a non-invasive consultative cardiologist with this group.
Dr. Wasserman is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians as well as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography, Dr. Wasserman is also RPVI credentialed (Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation). He is an authorized user of radiopharmaceuticals and has all of the required credentials to serve as a Radiation Safety Officer for a functioning nuclear cardiology laboratory.
During his professional career, Dr. Wasserman served as Chief of the Division of Cardiology at Community General Hospital in Syracuse, New York, for 24 years. He was President of the Medical Staff of Community General Hospital for two years, and he served on the Board of Directors of Community General Hospital, the Upstate New York American Heart Association, and the Syracuse Jewish Community Center. Dr. Wasserman has been married for 43 years. He and his wife have four sons and eight grandchildren.
