Kenneth Plunkitt, M.D., FACC, FHRS
A native of Freeport, Long Island, New York, Kenneth Webb Plunkitt moved to Florida while in his teens. He graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1993 and subsequently completed his Internal Medicine residency and General Cardiology fellowship at the University of South Florida-affiliated hospitals and clinics in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Plunkitt accepted a two-year fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology with the Jefferson University program at the Lankenau campus in the Mainline, Philadelphia. This intensive training experience included all aspects of cardiac arrhythmia management including pharmacologic management of cardiac arrhythmias, ablation techniques, pacemaker, and defibrillator implantation as well as laser lead extraction.
Following his training, Dr. Plunkitt returned to Florida in 2001 to establish a private practice explicitly limited to Cardiac Electrophysiology. He then founded Naples Heart Rhythm Specialists, P.A. in 2007 and quickly accomplished his goal of creating a center of excellence for Cardiac Electrophysiology in southwest Florida. He currently maintains this consultative practice with an emphasis on device implantation and interventional arrhythmia management. Dr. Plunkitt is Board Certified in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology and is a member of the American Medical Association, a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a member of the American College of Physicians.
Andrew Yin, M.D.
Dr. Andrew Yin was raised in Sacramento, California. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in Molecular Biology. After graduating Penn, Dr. Yin moved to New York City and spent two years studying the natural progression of valvular heart disease.
In 2006, Dr. Yin graduated from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency in 2009 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and his General Cardiology fellowship in 2012. Dr. Yin is Board Certified in Cardiac Electrophysiology, Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is a Testamur of the National Board of Echocardiography.
Dr. Yin completed a fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. This intensive training experience included all aspects of cardiac arrhythmia management including electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, atrial fibrillation, pacemaker and ICD therapies. He has coauthored seven scientific papers, one book chapter and eight scientific abstracts in the field of cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Yin joined this practice in September 2013 and became partner 2017.
Louis Wasserman, M.D.
A board-certified, non-invasive cardiologist for 37 years, Dr. Louis Wasserman relocated to Naples after a long and successful career in Syracuse, New York. He attended New York University as an undergraduate and graduated from Georgetown University Medical School. Dr. Wasserman went on to his Internal Medicine training at the Brown University Medical School Internal Medicine program and completed it at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then accepted a cardiology fellowship at The Likoff Cardiovascular Institute-Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Wasserman was a cardiologist in the same private practice, non-invasive cardiology group in Syracuse for more than 35 years. Upon arrival to Naples, he briefly joined the NCH Physicians Group/Naples Heart Institute before his return to private practice as a non-invasive consultative cardiologist with this group.
Dr. Wasserman is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians as well as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography, Dr. Wasserman is also RPVI credentialed (Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation). He is an authorized user of radiopharmaceuticals and has all of the required credentials to serve as a Radiation Safety Officer for a functioning nuclear cardiology laboratory.
During his professional career, Dr. Wasserman served as Chief of the Division of Cardiology at Community General Hospital in Syracuse, New York, for 24 years. He was President of the Medical Staff of Community General Hospital for two years, and he served on the Board of Directors of Community General Hospital, the Upstate New York American Heart Association, and the Syracuse Jewish Community Center. Dr. Wasserman has been married for 43 years. He and his wife have four sons and eight grandchildren.
Ryan Houk, M.D.
Ryan Houk, M.D. obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and subsequently completed a master’s degree from Columbia University. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2011. Dr. Houk completed his internship and residency training in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 2014.
He pursued specialty training in cardiology at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, LA, and served as chief fellow. Dr. Houk has additional interests in echocardiography as well as nuclear imaging.
Meet Our Advanced Practice Providers
Bill Walsh, PA-C
Bill has practiced medicine as a PA for almost 27 years after graduating from Stony Brook University in New York in 1991. He worked for five years at Booth Memorial Hospital in Queens, NYC as part of the Trauma team and house officer for General and Orthopedic Surgery services. After moving to Naples, FL, Bill was hired by a multi-specialty group and practiced General Cardiology for almost 10 years before joining our practice in 2008.
For the past 22 years, he has practiced in the NCH and PRMC hospital systems performing acute care for cardiac patients including ischemic heart disease, heart failure, and those with abnormal heart rhythms. Bill has supervised more than 20,000 nuclear stress tests and continues to provide the highest level of care for our hospital and clinic patients. Bill is married with two children and enjoys outdoor sports including softball and competitive marksmanship.
Matthew Palika, ARNP
Matt was born in Cleveland, OH, and grew up in rural North East Ohio. He received his BSN from Kent State. Matt has nine years of clinical nursing in cardiac telemetry, ICU, Heart Cath Lab, and EP lab. He received his MSN in Family Nurse Practitioner from FGCU in 2006. Matt has had more than 10 years of experience as a nurse practitioner in cardiology, hospitalist, and EP services.
Matt is married with one child and two stepchildren. His oldest daughter also received her BSN from Kent State. He enjoys baseball and fossil hunting in his spare time.
Sasha Takala, ARNP
Sasha was born and raised in Naples, FL. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Florida Gulf Coast University in 2011. She worked at NCH for four years both as charge nurse and floor nurse on the cardiothoracic unit. She then went on to become a nurse practitioner through the University of Florida. Sasha has been practicing as a nurse practitioner with our team since she graduated in 2015. Sasha is married with one son and two dogs. She loves scuba diving and spending time at the beach with her family.
Amanda Schultz, ARNP
Amanda is from Darien, IL. She moved to Marco Island in 2005 and completed her associate’s degree and bachelor’s degree in nursing at Edison State University. She received her Masters of Science degree from South University in 2016. Amanda had 10 years of experience as a cardiac telemetry nurse at NCH before becoming a nurse practitioner. She has been with this group since becoming a nurse practitioner in 2016. She enjoys spending time with her family and her pets in her spare time.
Jennifer Merritt, ARNP
Jennifer grew up in Bridgeville, PA. She achieved her BSN at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in Edinboro, PA, and later her Masters of Science in Nursing at South University.
Lindsay Bello, PA-C
Lindsay grew up in beautiful Naples, FL. She attended the University of Florida and earned her bachelor’s degree in biology. During her time at the University of Florida, Lindsay participated in various philanthropic events for the Children’s Miracle Network. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree, Lindsay spent a year or two working at UF Shands Emergency Room and Trauma Center.
She then attended Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Myers, FL, to earn her Master’s degree as a physician assistant. As a student, she was lucky enough to rotate through our practice. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with the highest distinction in her PA class. Lindsay has an English bulldog named Winnifred and a Bullmastiff named Luigi. She enjoys singing, pottery, and watching any Gators sports team.

Jaclyn Tighe, CCT, CCDS
Jaclyn (Jackie) Tighe is a Certified Cardiac Technician for our practice. Jackie relocated to Naples from Michigan in 2015. She received her certification specializing in Cardiac pacemakers/Cardiac Defibrillators and extensive rhythm interpretation from Carnegie in 2010. Jaclyn is experienced in interrogating and troubleshooting all device companies including Abbott/ St Jude Medical, Medtronic, Biotronik, Boston Scientific and Soren.
